Today’s newsletter is brought to you in partnership with Mission Support. Stay focused on your mission and let Mission Support help you with everything you didn't go to seminary for.

💡 1 SOLUTION FOR EFFECTIVE MINISTRY

If you only try once, you have no margin for error.

The more you try, the greater your chance of getting it right.

Find a way to get more attempts (or in many cases, don’t give up so soon). The person who takes 1,000 shots is going to score at some point.

How is this relevant for ministry? Sometimes a new idea, ministry, or initiative will take a little more time than is comfortable to gain momentum.

By than is comfortable I mean that not as many people as you want will show up, or sign up, or participate. It very well may take longer than you wish it would to gain momentum.

You might be excited about the new way your church is going to run small groups, or student ministry, or a change in your Sunday service, but people will need time to adjust and fully understand the new change.

Generally speaking, if you aren’t willing to give something at least 3 months it probably isn’t worth doing.

Once people see and hear about it multiple times and that it isn’t going way, you’ll likely see more engagement.

So don’t pull the plug too quickly, sometimes people just need a little more time.

🤔 1 CHALLENGE FOR LIFE AND MINISTRY

If you know what you want to do, why aren’t you doing it?

More Resources to help you in ministry 🙌

Here are more ways you can get the help you need:

  1. Join the Practical Church Facebook group. Connect with 2,300+ pastors and ministry leaders to get help and feedback from others.

  2. Check out Mission Support so you can enjoy being a pastor again.

  3. Shave 10 hours off your workweek and get back more time to get everything done.

P.S. When the Israelites rebuilt Jericho they banned all instruments.

They didn't want to fall for that again.
