⛪ How to create inspiration and results

Practical Church Newsletter ⛪️

TOGETHER WITH

Today’s newsletter is brought to you in partnership with Mission Support. Stay focused on your mission and let Mission Support help you with everything you didn't go to seminary for.

💡 1 SOLUTION FOR EFFECTIVE MINISTRY

You have to show up before inspiration will.

  • Great writers follow a consistent writing schedule, regardless of how they feel.

  • Great athletes follow a consistent training schedule, regardless of how they feel.

  • Great musicians follow a consistent practice schedule, regardless of how they feel.

  • Great pastors prepare sermons on a consistent schedule, regardless of how inspired they feel.

  • Great church planters engage their communities consistently, regardless of how fruitful it seems at the moment.

  • Great ministry leaders disciple and invest in others, even when they don’t immediately see life change.

Sometimes things will flow easier than others; sometimes, you won’t make much progress. But meaningful work rarely happens if we wait until we are in the mood. In fact, most (if not all) of your triumphs in life and ministry happened because you worked hard and stuck with it.

That sermon that resonated deeply? That church member whose life changed? That “unexpected” opportunity in ministry? You had likely positioned yourself by showing up.

What’s more, inspiration is much more likely to occur when you have predetermined to give yourself space for it to happen. You just need to train yourself to get started.

If you keep showing up, inspiration won’t be too far behind.
