πŸ’‘ 1 SOLUTION FOR EFFECTIVE MINISTRY

If you want more people to take their next step at your church, answer this question:

How can I make it easier?

This isn’t about watering down what you are doing or lowering expectations. Rather, it’s about making it easier and more simple for people to take their next step.

For example, if you want more people to start serving, how can you make it easier for people to sign up to serve?

If you want to celebrate more baptisms, how can you make it easier for people to get baptized?

If you want to increase generosity at your church, how can you make it easier for people to give?

Generally speaking, there are two things you can do to increase engagement in any area; by encouraging people to take their next step and making the process of doing so simpler.

When it comes to serving, you can:

  • Share stories of cool things that have happened when people serve more often

  • Reduce the number of serving options to choose from when people sign up (if you give 10 different options, it is too overwhelming for people to choose)

  • Do a serve push where you are clear about why you are inviting people to serve and how they can take their next step.

When it comes to baptisms, you can:

  • Designate a baptism Sunday in a few weeks and talk about it every week. People are more likely to take the step of baptism if they know when they can get baptized

  • Be very clear about how to sign up or get more information on what baptism is

  • Buy your own portable baptismal so you can plan baptisms whenever is best for your church

Whatever area you are wanting to increase engagement at your church, ask yourself if it is clear, obvious, and easy for people to take their next step.
