💡 1 SOLUTION FOR EFFECTIVE MINISTRY

In both life and ministry, one of the best ways to correct an undesirable outcome is to identify the cause behind the issue—not just the issue itself. Here’s what that can look like:

  • Instead of saying, “I’m always tired,” be honest: “I’m always tired because I scroll on my phone for 45 minutes in bed each night instead of getting rest.”

  • Instead of saying, “I’m too busy,” try: “I’m too busy because I don’t plan my time with intentionality.”

  • Instead of saying, “I wish I had time to invest in that leader,” admit: “I don’t have time to invest in that leader because I haven’t prioritized space in my week to do so.”

There is always a reason our life and leadership look the way they do. And while some circumstances are outside of our control, far more is within our influence than we often admit. But when we describe our problems vaguely, we make them feel permanent—like they’re just “part of life” in ministry.

They’re not.

There are pastors and leaders who aren’t always tired, who aren’t overwhelmed, and who do make time for the things that matter most. The difference? Ownership.

They are more proactive in planning their days and knowing what to say “no” to.

The only way to lead with purpose and margin is to take ownership of your time, habits, and choices.

What’s one area of life or ministry you can name clearly today—and take a step toward changing?
